POSITIVE RESPONSE TRAINING

In compliance with the KRS 367.4909 Dig Law:

An operator shall, within two (2) business days after receiving notification from an excavator;

  (a) Inform the excavator of the approximate location and descriptions of any of the operator's facilities that may be damaged or pose a safety concern because of excavation or demolition;
  (b) Inform the excavator of any other information that would assist in locating and avoiding contact with or damage to underground facilities;
  (c) Unless permanent facility markers are provided, provide temporary markings to inform the excavator of the ownership and approximate location of the underground facility; and
 (d) Notify the requesting party if underground facilities are not in conflict with the excavation or demolition.

Kentucky 811 provides a Positive Response Program to our member utilities allowing them to respond to dig requests stating if their underground facility Conflicts or Does Not Conflict with the dig site.


The POSITIVE RESPONSE program requires the user to execute a POSITIVE RESPONSE APPLICATION to be approved by Kentucky 811 and maintained at the Center.

Each and every person using this tool must complete an application and be involved in a training session with a member of the Kentucky 811 staff.

You will not be able to access the program until your scheduled training session. During this time you will be assigned a User Name to use with the password you requested.


OPERATING HOURS
The POSITIVE RESPONSE service is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via the internet. The business hours for the Call Center are Monday thru Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm ET, excluding weekends and holidays. Please contact our Administrative office with any questions regarding the program at 502.266.5677.

It is the users responsibility to proof the response prior to saving any in the POSITIVE RESPONSE system.
